As The Hawk’s afternoon drive announcer, Mike gets Wilmington home from work/school with the perfect mix of craziness and information.  Mike specializes in covering the latest rock news, weird stories in the news, traffic info and playing the best classic rock ever recorded. 

Mike started his radio career at a small station in his hometown of Parkersburg, West Virginia while still in high school (“O.K., bring on the hillbilly jokes!!”).  He went on to do radio in Pittsburgh, Pa., Johnstown, Pa., New London, Conn., and Providence, R.I., before discovering WIlmington.  Mike says, “Wilmington started out as just a stop in my travels as a radio gypsy.  However, it didn’t take me long to recognize a good thing.  And 20+ years later, here I am.”

After all these years Mike still considers it a thrill to do what he does for a living.  “I get to be on the radio every day doing my thing as an entertainer and touching peoples lives with pertinent and sometimes lifesaving information.  Not bad for a skinny kid from West Virginia with no apparent skills.”
